Congestion charge

Cardiff Council's ruling Labour administration has refused to rule out a congestion charge Conservative councillors called on the council to scrap plans to introduce a charge for drivers using roads in the city.

A council transport plan published in 2020 set out a possible road charging scheme. Consultants are working with the council to explore options.

Cardiff Conservatives have unequivocally ruled out a congestion charge for Cardiff. Instead they will fight for more investment for improved road surfaces and durable pothole repairs.
