David 's Experience
David is the Shadow Minister for Economic Development in the National Assembly and the Welsh Conservatives' director of policy. He has previously chaired the assembly's Health and Social Services, and Standards of Conduct committees and before the 2007 elections was spokesman on local government and public services.
David also boasts more than a decade's campaigning for the Conservative Party across Wales. As the party's policy director David wrote the the Welsh Conservatives' manifestos for the 2003 and 2007 Assembly elections.
David has stood for Parliament twice - in 1992 in Blaenau Gwent, and in 1997 in Cardiff Central - and has twice contested the Vale of Glamorgan seat in Assembly elections.
About David
David gives politicians a good name. One of the National Assembly's most able members, he combines an impressive grasp of the political process and constitutional affairs with eloquence and good humour - a fact that has won him plaudits among colleagues and the media alike.
Born in Neath in 1962, David was educated at Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School, Neath, the University of Wales, Cardiff, and the College of William and Mary, Virginia, USA. Before his election to the National Assembly he was manager of the Carers National Association in Wales and a former Deputy Director of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs.
His political interests include community care, health and constitutional affairs. Outside the political arena, David enjoys, reading, golf and swimming.

About Andrew
Andrew was born in Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan in 1968 and educated at Llanfair Primary School and St John’s College, Porthcawl. He became a partner in the family farming business based near Cowbridge. Andrew Davies is a Welsh delegate on the Council of the NFU. He was the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’s Oxford Scholar in 2002.
He joined the Welsh Conservative Party in 1997 and stood as a Parliamentary candidate in Cardiff West in 2001 and in Brecon & Radnorshire in 2005. At the 2007 Assembly elections he was listed second on the Conservative regional list for South Wales Central and was elected. Andrew Davies is married with four children. He is a former Chairman of Creative Communities, an organisation which seeks to develop structural community development.
Andrew’s hobbies include swimming, farming and spending time with his family. Andrew’s political interests include education, health and rural affairs.
In February 2009, Andrew was appointed Shadow Minister for Health and Social Services. Andrew served Shadow Minister for Education from June 2008 to February 2009. He was previously Shadow Minister for Transport. He sits on the Assembly’s Health, Wellbeing and Local Government Committee and the Petitions Committee.
In December 2008, Andrew was recognised in the Welsh Politician of the Year Awards as ‘Assembly Member to Watch’.
Andrew's region of South Wales Central is comprised of Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
